Minister Dionne Walters
Minister
Minister Dionne hails from the beautiful island of Jamaica, specifically the parish of Westmoreland, a place rich in culture and deep Christian heritage. In 2014, she migrated to the United States and now resides in Concord City, North Carolina, where she continues to serve faithfully in both her profession and her calling.
By profession, Minister Dionne is a Registered Nurse, a role that reflects her compassionate heart and commitment to caring for others. But beyond her professional life, she carries an even deeper calling as an ordained minister of the Gospel, dedicating her life to serving God and uplifting His people.
She is the loving wife of our dear Bishop, Dr. Garnet Walters, whom she affectionately describes as her rock, and together they stand as partners in ministry and in life. She is also the proud mother of one beautiful daughter, whom she lovingly describes as her heart in human form.
Minister Dionne is also one of the founding members of Solid Rock Open Door Ministry, where she has served faithfully in an administrative capacity, helping to plan and coordinate ministry activities while supporting the vision of the church and standing alongside her husband in service to God's people.
Her faith journey began in a humble Christian home, where her mother, an evangelist and prophetess in the New Testament Church of God in Jamaica, instilled in her and her siblings the importance of living a life centered on God. That foundation of discipline and devotion never left her. As she grew into adulthood, she continued to witness God's hand working in her life, strengthening her faith and affirming the call upon her life.
From an early age, she recognized that God had a purpose and a plan for her, and that realization ignited a passion for ministry and for spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In 2013, she answered the call to faith, and in 2016 she answered the call to ministry, stepping boldly into the work that God had prepared for her.
Minister Dionne is known for her intuitive spirit and strong discernment, and she is truly a people-person who demonstrates love, kindness, and compassion to everyone she encounters. She is also creatively gifted—enjoying writing poems and songs and expressing her creativity through decorating and the arts. She also wrote the theme song for welcoming new visitors to the church, titled Welcome to Solid Rock.
Her joyful personality is unmistakable. She is high-spirited, loves to laugh, and finds joy in the simple things of life, living each day with a heart full of gratitude.
Her personal mantra reflects her faith and confidence in God's calling upon her life: “I am strong, capable, and confident, gifted for greatness,” rooted in the powerful words of Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
